I played this recently at Gen Con and enjoyed it. It has the feel of the Match Game TV show, but without the corny puns. This is a simple and fun Fill in the Blank game that is played in about 25 minutes. The game is designed for 3 to 8 players, and intended for players ages 8 & up. A party game published by The Op, Blank Slate is all about trying to predict how other players will think and attempting to only match with one of them. That's the sort of things that grab me, to have choice and control of who I am within the game, and then impact the game's world through those choices. Blank Slate is a new party game from USAopoly. The lessons include games, vocabulary, and various activities for each lesson. What I look like, what my backstory is, what my morals and worldview is, how I interact with others, how I deal with friends or enemies, what relationships look like. Of course combat, growing stronger, choosing your abilities, and action-oriented interaction are incredibly important, but what I'm really looking for is character creation. ![]() When I think of role playing, I honestly don't care very much about the "dice-roll" portion of that equation. But there's just that next level sense of engagement when the game allows "you" (or whatever you you want to be) into the game and for that sense of agency to drive the game forward. In our review, the guys let us know if this game thats worth checking out or if we should pass. Some of the greatest games of all time have you follow the developer's lead in understanding the people and world around you, including the main character. From the Op comes another riot of a party game: Blank Slate. I don't mind the established character/narrative-styled game. I'll be honest folks, I'm hankerin' for a good blank slate RPG to play and get lost in. ![]()
